Bengaluru: Nearly 30 Congress leaders want tickets for children, intensify lobbying

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru Apr 3: Many of the senior Congress leaders who are lobbying to get tickets for their children or relatives for the upcoming May 12 Assembly polls, met AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal on Monday.

Venugopal, along with AICC secretary Sake Shailajanath, made himself available for leaders who wanted to share their opinions ahead of the elections.

Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy who wants the Jayanagar constituency ticket for his daughter Soumya Reddy, Urban Development Minister Roshan Baig who wants a ticket for his son Ruman Baig and Animal Husbandry Minister A Manju whose son Manthar Gowda is a ticket aspirant, were among senior leaders who met Venugopal.

At least 30 Congress leaders are seeking tickets for children and family members which include chief minister Siddaramaiah who wants to field his son Dr Yathindra from the Varuna Assembly seat. The father-son duo has already started campaigning.

Willingness of Venugopal to meet the leaders is seen as an attempt to ensure that leaders are heard. But as all know, the final decision of giving tickets to sons and daughters has been left to the party's high command.

According to sources, Baig urged Venugopal to give Ruman the Hebbal ticket. Apparently, Baig even offered to shift from Shivajinagar, which he currently represents, to Hebbal, so that his son can contest from Shivajinagar.

Reddy made a bid to get his daughter the Jayanagar ticket, where former Union Minister K Rahman Khan wants his son Mansoor Ali Khan to contest. It is also learnt that state Congress chief G Parameshwara wants his close aide and the party's OBC cell chief M C Venugopal to get the Jayanagar ticket.

Venugopal is learnt to have assured leaders that the high command would take an appropriate decision on tickets. The first list of candidates is expected to be out before April 15.

Venugopal also received inputs from ministers and some ticket aspirants on the prevailing mood in various districts of the state. He made note of the party's strengths and weaknesses, sources said.

In order for any person to offer the candidature for MP and MLA in India, the following criteria should be implemented:

    1. Minimum age: 35 years
    2. Minimum Education level: A Bachelors degree in any discipline
    3. Must serve in Indian Military for a minimum of 10 years
    4. No criminal offense
With the implementation of the above, we can hope for a disciplined and progressing India.

This is the problem with our politicians, they call themself SEVAKS but they know very well how to swindle money.

Now a days even for a office boy job they required CV and education, but for our politicians no need anything.

There should be a bar on age, education, how many times one person can stand for election etc. I wish these things they need to finalised in LS and put a guidelines for all the politicians.

We have hundreds of political parties, which is big sh#t in India........

See our defence minister, I dont think she will have a minimum knowledge on the armours etc.

Politics should not be made family business. Politician should not be allowed to contest for third time
There are thousands talented people in every state of India. We would like to see 40% new politician who are not related to any of the existing politician every time. Give chance to others too.

Today India politics became ancestor's property. ..! Dynasty. ..! I think this worst trend is going on because of we electorates. We Indians are too sentimental. ..innocent and self sufficient. And the most dangerous problem is money plays important role in every field. Politics is not an exception.
Minister. ...! It has a noble meaning. A minister is a person who serves God..! Serves humanity. Serves needy. His life is dedicated to mankind.
Today ,A minister is a culpable murderer, rapist, robber, cheat. His qualifications for politics are charges of IPC sections or jail tag no. ... Then his great son will continue father's empire.
We voters argue our part is best. ..rest is worst. ..Aren't we become fools? No ,we prove.. we are little smart.

Two things our political leaders never to is :

    (1) Limiting political access to just one member of a family
    (2) Reversing the hike in their own perks/pay.

Leaches/Vultures. Sucking the blood and devouring on taxpayers hard earned money. Once one member gets used to the lavish political life they want it to be continued with their children, grand children and great grand children.
