Chandigarh, Sep 15: Amritsar is raging with a controversy over cine star Shah Rukh Khan lighting a cigarette on the compound of the Khalsa college during a shoot.
Khan is shooting Yash Raj Chopra’s film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, in Amritsar. While there has been no official confirmation of the incident, the management of the college has been under attack for permitting the shoot where Khan was found smoking in the presence of students.
There are reports that the Punjab Health Department on the direction of the Union Health Ministry has decided to issue notice to the actor. Jaswinder Singh, the acting principal of Khalsa College, refuted the allegations as baseless. He said he was present during the shoot and did not find the actor smoking on the premises.
Lehmber Singh, a senior civil surgeon, said he would get the matter examined as there had been conflicting reports.
