Sullia, Aug 18: One person died and several others are trapped under the debris after three houses collapsed in a massive landslide here at Jodupala near Sampaje-Madikeri on August 17.
The deceased has been identified as Basappa, an employee of Sullia government hospital. The bodies of his wife and two children are yet to be traced.
The police also said that two children of one Hameed have also gone missing.

The residents of Jodupala were shifted to nearby school following mudslides in the area from Thursday. On Friday the three houses collapsed and the area is covered with water blocking vehicular movement. Over 800 people have been shifted to safer areas and it is learnt that over 100 people are still stranded in Monnangeri area. Over 600 residents of Monnangeri and Jodupala area have been shifted to Sampaje, Chembu and Aranthodu schools.
The rescue teams are struggling to shift over 100 people who are stranded in a government school in Jodupala to safer areas.
Sullia circle inspector Sathish Kumar, sub-inspector Manjunath and staff have arrived to the spot. Kodagu police along with rescue disaster teams from Mangaluru arrived to Jodupala and recovered the body of Basappa.
Meanwhile, over 60 people who were stranded in a school were shifted to Kallugundi and Aranthodu schools. The incessant rains have halted the rescue operation in several areas.
Other parts of Dakshina Kannada
Meanwhile, the rainfall subsided in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Mangaluru on Friday, though the low lying areas are still witnessing flood-like situation.
The Nethravati River is still flowing above the danger mark and over 50 houses in Ullal are submerged in water. The water level in Kumaradhara and Payaswini River has slightly reduced. In Bisile ghat region, the commuters are stranded due to landslides.
According to weather department, the rains are likely to continue for two more days in Dakshina Kannada.
Meanwhile, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has warned the fishermen not to venture into the sea on Saturday. For any help they can contact the department through toll free number 1077, said DC Sasikanth Senthil.
