Udupi: Inauguration of Jaycee Week at JCI Udyavar-Kuthpady

Udupi, Oct 8: Jaycee Week of JCI Udyavar-Kuthpady was inaugurated by Udupi diocese chancellor Fr Stany B Lobo on Sunday October7 at St Francis Xavier Church hall here in Udyavar.

Inaugurating the function Fr Stany Lobo said, “We all know about the objectives of JCI. JCI strives to bring a positive change in the people. Change in terms of management, training, community and commitment. All these qualities are inculcated by a JCI member. Man is a social animal. He cannot live inside a certain boundary.
Personality development in youth is a very important motto of JCI.



“JCI helps us in finding ourselves and through that to serve society. Our talents should help us in serving society. I have seen the change in a JCI member. May this change spread to everyone you meet in your life.”

Rukubuddin Saheb, assistant priest of Jamia Masjid, Roshan D’Souza of Humanity Trust, Mahesh Hoode, Udupi helpline group were honored for their service to society.

Jayakar Shetty Indrali, managing director Badagubettu Credit Co-operative Bank on the occasion said, “JCI is an organization which is serving for more than a century. JCI gives utmost importance to personality development of youth. It has lakhs of members all over the world. JCI upholds that it is a part of society and it has responsibilities toward society. All international service organizations should hold these type of programmes. God has given us this life. Let us live with co-operation and friendliness. In our life let us help others through our social service. Felicitation to one individual must inspire another person to take up social service,” he said.

PPP Allan Rohan Vaz, past zone president, zone15 wished good luck to the Jaycee Week and said, “From the last eight years JCI Udyavar-Kuthpady is doing great work. Around 100 years back JCI started with a strength of only ten members and after 100 years it has lakhs of members across nations. It is a group of members who are of the age group of 18-40 years. Let this Jaycee week be successful and may all the dreams of the president be fulfilled."

Many competitions and programmes have been organized as part of Jaycee Week-2018. On October 13 Saturday the valedictory function will be held at St Francis Xavier church premise. Competitions like cooking without fire, singing reality show, healthy baby competition have been organized as part of Jaycee week-2018.

JC Harishchandra Amin, past zone president, Zone15 on the occasion said, “Jaycee Week is a time to celebrate. It is like a festive season. It gives us an opportunity to convey to people what we are and what we do. Here, JCI Udyavar-Kauthpady has done many good works. We JCI members should strive to uphold peace in society. As part of this today we have honored people from all three religions. Let this continue."

As part of the entertainment programme on the first day 'Bale Telipoale' tulu comedy acts were performed by well known troupe Prashamsa Kaup.

JC Steevan Colaco, president JCI Udyavar-Kauthpady, JC Pashupati Sharma, zonal vice-president Zone15, JC Ashok Palan, JC Sharath Kumar, JC Roshni Colaco, Prakhyath Shetty, vice-president Udupi District Congress, Riyaz Palli, vice-president Udyavar gram panchayat were present during the function.
