Kundapur: Man who tosses cellphone farthest wins new smartphone

Kundapur, Oct 8: A competition in which participants were to throw heir old cellphones with all their might was organized in the playground of Goliangady government PU college in the taluk on Sunday October 7. In the contest which was keenly fought, Shekhar Settolli, who threw his old cellphone to a distance of 77.90 metres bagged the first prize of a 4G smartphone.

This competition was organized by Pragathi Enterprises Goliangady, Vandaru and Mavinakatte. Over 250 old cellphones were collected during this competition. Second prize of an Android mobile phone was won by Rajesh Settolli, who registered a distance of 72.7 metres.

As this competition was given wide publicity through socil websites, contestants had arrived even from other districts. An entry fee of Rs 20 was charged for each of the contestants. The old phones which were tossed by the people were retained by the organizers instead of giving them back. The contest went on from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday.
