Kundapur, Oct 10: The police here have received a complaint from Cicilia D'Souza (48), resident of HMT Toad, Koni near here, alleging that her husband had tried to murder her with a sickle.
The lady said that she had married Mark D'Costa in 1994 after which her husband has been picking up quarrel with her, deriding her with filthy words, and assaulting her physically. On Monday October 8 night, she said, Mark swung a sickle at her neck with the aim of killing her but she blocked his it with her hands. As such, she suffered serious injuries to her hands. She said that thereafter he caught hold of her by her hair and banged her head against the wall, causing grave injuries.
The police, who have registered this complaint, have begun probe.
