Udupi, Oct 11: Adani owned Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) handed over a confirmation letter to Bada Grama Panchayat committing to execution of development works worth Rs 1 crore nder its CSR during the financial year 2018-19.

Kishore Alva, joint president of Adani UPCL and Nagaratna Karkera, president of BadaGrama Panchayat, mutually exchanged the confirmation letter and KriyaYojana for the FY 2018-19 in the premises of BadaGrama Panchayat.

Later Alva spoke and informed that Adani UPCL has committed a special CSR package to seven surrounding gram panchayats, under which BadaGrama Panchayat has been considered for Rs 3 crore over a period of three years. "Under this package, Adani UPCL in association with Adani Foundation, till date has taken-up and completed seven development works worth Rs 38 lac and 14 development works worth Rs 55.50 lac are in the process of execution, which were included in panchayat’s KriyaYojana.

"The village development works are being monitored by in-house civil team of Adani and it is ensuring delivering quality works for the benefit of the villagers aiming overall development at par with urban cities. The works identified by the Panchayat in their KriyaYojana for the present financial year would be completed by the end of 2019."

Nagaratna Karkera, who received the CSR Grant confirmation letter, expressed happiness for considering Bada villages under the CSR umbrella of Adani Foundation. She applauded the social development works initiated by the company and thanked them for the special package toward Rural Infrastructure Development.
