Mangaluru: Catholic Sabha organises diocesan-level elocution competition

Mangaluru, Dec 8: A 3- tier elocution competition for Konkani and Kannada was conducted by Catholic Sabha at unit deanery and diocesan level. Five different age groups - children and youth - from all parts of the diocese participated in the competition. In the unit level deanery, 1265 participated and central level, 117 participted.



In the three month competition, the following were declared winners:

First group upto 2nd std

First place: Preeth Pinto, Loretto
Second place: Anora Neeral D'Souza, Bondel
Third place: Nimisha Preesha Montero, Bondel

Second group: 3rd std to 4th std

First place: Marita Lobo, Bondel
Second place: Denith Rodrigues, Bondel
Third place: Jeethan Fernandes, Allipade

Third group: 5th std to 7th std

First place: Elyn G Fernandes, Bellur
Second place: Jenifer D'Souza, Kinnigoli
Third place: Sejil D'Souza, Mudipu

Fourth group: 8th std to 10th std

First place: Vensita Dias, Anjelore
Second place: Venisha Fiyona Mascarenhas, Suratkal
Third place: Olinka Lobo, Anjelore

Fifth group

First place: Diyona D'Souza, Ferar
Second place: Preema D'Souza, Derebail
Third place: Dixon Lasrado, Uppinangadi
Third place/: Reshma Moras, Allipade

This competition is organised by Catholic Sabha every year and this time it was held at Permannur under the able leadership of Josline D'Souza.

At the morning inaugural and evening prize distribution, the following were present: Rolpy D’Costa, Fr J B Saldanha, Fr Mathew Vas, Fr Stany Pinto, Fr Lizil D'Souza, Arun Monteiro, Anil Lobo, Melwyn C D'Souza, Celestine D’Souza, Alwyn D’Souza, Naveen D’Souza, Felix D’Souza, Alfred D’Souza, Ronald Fernandes, Roshan D’Souza and Francis D'Sa.
