Udupi: Tight Security Cover for Srikrishna Math on the Occasion of Saptotsava

Udupi, Jan 8: On the occasion of 'Saptotsava', to be held at Srikrishna Math here from Thursday January 8, special police platoons have been deployed at strategic places around the temple, said Ashit Mohan Prasad, inspector general of police(IGP), western range, during his visit to the temple on Tuesday January 6 for overseeing the security arrangements.

Since the terrorists have listed Srikrishna Temple as one of their prime targets, tight security is being  arranged for the protection of the Math and its devotees on the occasion of saptotsava, he added.

Special police contingents and armed police personnel are being deployed at seven places around the temple. The officials guarding the temple are being equipped with modern weapons. The devotees have to go through a thorough security check by the personnel concerned, before being allowed inside. Vishwanat Pandit, deputy superintendent of police accompanied the IGP during the inspection.
