Udupi: Rakshana Vedike alleges DC was transferred for turning heat on Navayuga

Udupi, Feb 6: Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) has alleged that deputy commissioner of the district, Priyanka Mary Francis was transferred for turning heat on Navayuga infra, which has been executing national highway works.

"Navayuga which has been executing the road widening work has been criticized for unscientific execution of work and collection of toll charges unjustifiably. The deputy commissioner had strictly instructed the company to complete pending road work at Padubidri and Beejady within 15 days failing which she had warned of recommending to blacklist it.

KRV president, Ansar Ahmed, said in a release that the deputy commissioner has been transferred under the guise of pre-poll transfer. He accused the state and central governments of extending support to daylight robbery and authoritarian attitude of mega companies like Navayuga.
