Udupi: Petrol bunk employee attacked for objecting reckless Gutkha spitting

Udupi, Feb 7: Pradeep K M (46) from Gundia, working for Budhagi service station at Bada Yermal near Padubidri reportedly was attacked by two men, who also are said to have posed death threats to him. Relating to this incident, a case was registered in Padubidri police station.

At around 11.30 pm on February 5, Asif and Farooq had visited the petrol bunk where Pradeep works, to buy petrol. During their visit, they had spit out the residue of Gutkha they were chewing in the petrol bunk. Pradeep had objected to this behaviour. Angered by this, the two had put more Gutkha into their mouths and then spit it into his face. It is said that they came back in ten minutes, and attacked Pradeep in his forehead and head. They hurled choicest abuses at Pradeep and also posed death threat, Pradeep stated.

Injured Pradeep was treated at a private hospital at Padubidri. Padubidri police are investigating the incident.

    I think there is some enmity between them. However, if they found to be under gutkha influence, they should be penalized. But, before that actual fact is required to be investigated as none can clap with one hand.
