Kundapur: Fisherman slips, drowns in sea

Kundapur, Feb 8: A fisherman, identified as Narasimha Kharvi (55) from Pinnanamane, Kody in the taluk, drowned in the Arabian Sea after a huge wave hit his boat as a result of which he slipped and fell into the water.

Narasimha had ventured out for fishing in a boat at 2 am on Thursday February 7 along with locals, Chandra, Nagaraja, and Anil Kharvi. As the boat returned to shore after fishing a huge wave lashed it. As a result, Narasimha Kharvi, fell into the sea. The others succeeded in bringing him out of the water and taking him to the government hospital here. However, he died before medical help could be extended to him.

A case of unnatural death stands registered on the incident at the police station here.
