Moodbidri: Three men arrested on charges of raping minor girl

Moodbidri, Feb 10: Police have arrested three suspects under POCSO Act on charges of raping a minor girl at Puchemogaru here.

The arrested suspects are Maxim Tauro, Vinay alias Vinay and Venur Gardadi resident Santhu alias Santhosh. They were produced in Moodbidri court and remanded to judicial custody.

Details of the incident

Kerala based man was staying with his Jarkhand based wife and fourteen years old daughter at Puchemogaru. Both the husband and the wife were alcoholics. It is said that the father had raped his daughter during last July. The matter came to light when local people asked why the girl is sleeping outside the house at night. Police had later arrested the suspect on the basis of complaint from the wife. The girl was sent to protection home in Mangaluru.

The girl has reportedly said during further investigations that Maxim Tauro, Vinay and Santhosh also have raped her.
