Mangaluru: Youth, injured in accident, dies at hospital

Mangaluru, Feb 12: A youth, who had suffered serious injuries in an accident that happened at Kannur - Adyarkatte in the outskirts of the city, failed to respond to treatment and breathed his last in a hospital on Monday, February 11.

The deceased was Muhammed Hafiz (20) , a resident of Gurpur. The other youth, Muhammed Sawath (33), who was also injured in the accident, continues to be treated at a hospital.

Muhammed Sawath was riding a motor bike on February 11 with Muhammed Hafiz in the pillion. At about 4.15 am on Monday, the motor bike went out of control of its rider and rammed into the road divider. Both fell on the road. Muhammed Hafiz suffered serious injuries to his head, while Muhammed Sawath also sustained some injuries. Some passersby admitted them into a private hospital here.

It is said that the men were moving to central market in the city to work there. A case about the accident was registered in the city (south) police station.
