Kundapur: Accused Tiger Pelt Smugglers Get Bail

Kundapur, Jan 27: Krishnaiah Balegar Kollur, Narayan Naik and Yadamoge Chandra Poojary, who were arrested by the personnel of Shankarnarayana police station sometime back from Ampar while smuggling tiger pelts, wild buffalo meat and horns, have succeeded in securing bail.

The policemen had registered cases under the Wildlife Conservation Act against the accused. Udupi sessions court had declined their bail applications. Therefore, they had approached the State High Court.

After hearing both the sides, Justice N Anand of the High Court has granted bail for the three.

Advocates Kalavar Udaykumar Shetty and Mahesh Kiran Shetty had pleaded for bail on behalf of the accused.
