Udupi: B R Nagesh Memorial 'Natyas Natakotsav' from Feb 1 to 8

Udupi, Jan 28:
In memory of veteran stage director Prof B R Nagesh.  'Natyas Natakotsav' will be held everyday from 7 pm onwards from Sunday February 1 to Sunday February 8, at Muddana Mantap of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) College here, under the aegis of Karnataka Natak Academy Bangalore and Nama Tuluver Kala Sangatane.
 
National Drama School Bangalore resource person, eminent stage artiste and director Suresh Anegalli will inaugurate the Natakotsav at 6.00 pm on Sunday February 1.  Karnataka Natak Academy president Dr B V Rajaram will preside over the programme.
 
Veteran Kannada movie director Nagatihalli Chandrashekar and MGM College principal Dr Jayaprakash Mavinakuli will be the chief guests. 
 
'Arere ..  Kunjurama !!' Kannada play adapted from the original work by Moliyar, will be staged by Aneka team, Bangalore, directed by Suresh Anagalli, on Sunday February 1.
 
'Kamsayana,' Kannada play will be staged by Savitam troupe of BMM High School, Koorady, directed by Sripada Bhat with playwright Dr H S Venkatamurti on Monday February 2.
 
'Ushaharana,' Kannada play will be staged by Sheshagiri troupe Haveri, directed by Sripada Bhat with playwright Shantakavi on Tuesday February 3.
 
'Gandhi Mattu Ambedkar,' Kannada play will be staged by Nadana – Mysore, directed by C Basavalingayya, translated by D S Chowgule from the original drama of Premanand Ganavi on Wednesday February 4.
 
'Mracchakatika,' Kannada play will be staged by Natyaranga troupe of MGM College, directed by Vishwanath, translated by Venkataramana Aithal from the original drama of  poet Shudraka  on Thursday February 5.
 
'Makkala Maya Loka,' Kannada play will be staged by Alvas College, Moodbidri, directed by Jeevanram Sullia, translated by K G Krishnamurti from the original drama of C S Lewis on Friday February 6.
 
'Nee Mayeyolago Ninnolu Mayeyo,' Kannada play will be staged by Karnataka Sangh, Mumbai, directed by Bharat Kumar Polipu with playwright by Sriranga on Saturday February 7.
 
Veteran writer and children's playwright Vaidehi will deliver the valedictory speech at the valedictory ceremony to be held at 6.00 pm on Sunday February 8.
 
The valedictory ceremony will be presided over by veteran litterateur Dr K Marulasiddappa.
 
Renowned stage director C Basavalingaiah and Manipal Academy of General Education administrative officer Dr H Shantaram will be the chief guests of the occasion.
 
'Huvu,' Kannada play will be staged by the troupe of Natya Mudrady, directed by Basavalingaiah and playwright Girish Karnad.
 
Seminar on stage director, litterateur B R Nagesh:
 
Alvas Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva will inaugurate the seminar on stage director, litterateur B R Nagesh at 9.45 am on Sunday February 8 at Muddana Mantap of MGM College here. Renowned litterateur and stage director Prof Ramdas will preside over the programme. 
 
KMC Manipal orthopaedic surgeon Dr Bhaskaranand Kumar will be the chief guest of the occasion.
 
Sukumar Mohan and Nagesh Udyavar were present at the press conference.
