Kundapur: Illegal cow slaughter at Gangolli - one held, two escape

Kundapur, Feb 13: Gangolli police who raided a spot in Gangolli on Tuesday February 12 after getting information about illegal cow slaughter, arrested a person.

After the police were tipped about the slaughter of a cow in a house behind the fish market at Gangolli for beef, police sub-inspector of Gangolli, Vasappa Naik, along with other staff, rushed to the spot and arrested a local named Raheem. The raiding party found beef, pelt of the animal, hooves, head, and other parts. They also confiscated three male calves which were found tethered for being slaughtered, along with equipment used for the slaughter.

The police said that two other accused, Abdul Raheem and Shaqib, escaped during the raid. A case about the incident was filed in Gangolli police station.
