Mangaluru, Feb 13: Fourteen couples will tie the nuptial knot in a free mass wedding ceremony sponsored by Bearys Welfare Forum (BWF), Abu Dhabi at Milagres Hall on Saturday, February 16.
Addressing a press meet, BWF president Mohammed Ali Uchil said that the ceremony on February 16 will be the 8th mass wedding conducted by BWF.
The wedding ceremony will start at 11 am and Al Haj Twaka Ahmad Musliyar will conduct the Nikah prayers. District-in-charge minister U T Khader will inaugurate the event while Mohammed Ali Uchil will preside over the programme.
Abdulla Madumoole will deliver the introductory speech.
The organisation will felicitate Dr B A Mohammad Haji Moideen, founder of Thumbe Group and Dr M S M Abdul Rasheed Zaini for their achievements and the service for community in the same event. Dignitaries from the community and region will grace the event as guest of honour."
BWF came into existence in 2004 with a motive to help Beary people and preserve their culture. The association started the community wedding in 2008 and they are now in the 8th year. With 14 weddings this year, they have managed to achieve 100 weddings in all.
