Hassan: Assault on Girls in Pub - Home Minister Smells Political Conspiracy

Daijiworld Media Network - Hassan (SP)

Hassan, Jan 28: Home minister Dr V S Acharya termed the incident of attack on a Mangalore pub as a well-planned political conspiracy. "The state director general of police will investigate into the issue to find out details of those who were behind the conspiracy," he informed.

"So far, 25 people have been arrested relating to the incident. Some other accused including a Congress leader, have been absconding," he said.

Responding to a question raised on the issuance of notices to some media persons by the police, he said that the way in which some media houses in Mangalore conducted themselves while covering the incident, has given rise to doubts. Some state-level newspapers are published from Mangalore, but these papers are not carrying any instigative reports. Some visual media and selected print media firms are carrying provocative reports. The visual media reporters had reached the pub even before the gang of hooligans came there, he pointed out.

He also expressed his displeasure at the offer posted on the internet site which said that the compact discs covering the incident were on sale.

I am not surprised at the reactions of the Home Minister. He had similar reactions regarding the September 2008 incidents in Mangalore.

If we go by Home Minister's words then probably the whole incident is a stage-managed show or it may be a movie. He is trying to cover the police who have failed once again in DK. If it is a good movie then some more oscar-like awards are coming our way. I wonder who are actors who look so real. Probably CM/Rajnath etc are all look-alikes maybe.

Mr. Home Minister. If anyone has made a call to the Police no. 100 I suppose, Police are on the very fast. With manipulations in the past few incidents in mangalore, perhaps people have lost faith in your department and called in the media before calling the police, which is the norm. As a conspiracy perhaps your home department stayed away from the scene inspite of knowing about it based on your govts instructions. Perhaps the newspapers covered it up based on instructions. Perhaps your department did not inform the CM on instructions...... And now you shameleslly politicise it and blame the media for the good job.
