Puttur, Feb 15: A person was crushed to death by a train near Karmala in the taluk on Wednesday February 14.
The victim of this incident was Narayana alias Nitya (45), an auto rickshaw driver by profession. He was staying in a rented house at Haradi Nandila.
Narayana, who was unmarried, had left his home on February 13 from his rented home in his three-wheeler. He had not been seen ever since. His auto rickshaw was later found parked near a bar in Uppinangady. His relatives, who were informed about the auto rickshaw, had brought the vehicle back to the town.
Narayana was operating his vehicle from Nehru Nagar rickshaw park. His relatives have identified the body. A case relating to the incident was registered by the railway police at Mangaluru.
