Moodabidri: K Amarnath Shetty urges for creation of Mulki taluk

Moodabidri, Feb 16: “Mulki hobli which is 30 kilometers away from Mangaluru taluk needs to be given taluk status to achieve administrative progress. I have requested chief minister Kumaraswamy and the minister of revenue to announce it as a taluk. I hope the announcement is made on priority,” said former minister K Amarnath Shetty at a news conference.

“The committee consisting of professor Hundekar and P C Gaddigoudar appointed by the government for the purpose has recommended the creation of Mulki taluk. Mulki has all the necessary facilities and merits to be a taluk,” he said.

JD(S) district spokesperson Hariprasad Shetty Paladka, JD(S) district chief secretary Pravin Chandra, secretary Prathwiraj, Moodabidri Citizen Progress Committee’s Venkatesh Hebbar, vice president Shashikanth Joel D’ Souza, Harish Putran, Tenkamijar Grama Panchayat president Hariprasad Shetty, Bhasker Acharya and Kishore were present in the news conference.
