Karkala: Thousands Participate in Run for Eco Awareness

Karkala, Feb 14: A run for the environment was held on Friday February 13 at 2.30 pm from Swarajya Maidan to Kadalakere Nisargadama, a distance of 4 km. It was organized by the forest department and Kadalakere Nisargadama Committee.

MLA Abhayachandra Jain, and district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar participated in the run along with thousands of students from neighbouring schools and colleges. 

Palemar also laid the foundation stone for various development work to be  undertaken in its municipal limits.

Speaking on the occasion he said that eco-environment signifies preserving the bio-species and this is the responsibility of all.

Manjunath Shetty, Coastal Development Authority chairman Nagaraj Shetty, Vajrakshi, municipal councilor Bhoja Kotian, KMF Kaup Divakar Shetty, L C Soans, Koragappa, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLA Abhayachandra Jain, and Tahsildar Abhijin Shetty were also present. 

Moodbidri Kambla Committee general secretary Gunapal Kadamba compered the programme.
