Beltangady, Feb 21: The 10-day Uroos festival being held at Kajoor Dargah Shariff near here, was inaugurated by the Uroos Committee president K Shekabba Kajoor on Friday February 20.

A ‘Sandal’ procession was taken out from Killur to Kajoor Dargah Shariff in this connection. The traditional Duf which accompanied the procession provided musical and devotional hue to the procession. Later, the mass 'Darga Ziyarat' was held.

Sayyed Zainul Abideen Jamalullaili Thangal Kajoor, who presided over the meeting held thereafter, hoped that this 10-day festival will be able to spread a message of goodwill and harmony across the district and its people.

Khateeb of Killur Jumma Masjid Abdul Rahiman Musliyar, K H Muhammed Ashraf Saadi of Killur Mudarris, general secretary of Uroos Committee B A Shariff, vice president M A Kasim Malligemane, treasurer K M Mohammed Hanif and B H Abubakker Haji Kajoor were present.

Vice president K U Ibrahim conducted the programme. The Uroos is being held under the joint aegis of Killur and Kajoor Jamaat.
