Udupi: Third National Convention of Darshan Parishat Begins in City

Udupi, Mar 8:
The third national convention of the Karnataka Darshan Parishat was inaugurated on Sunday March 8, under the aegis of the Sri Krishna Math at Rajangan here.  It will conclude on the evening of Monday March 9.

Veteran Kannada litterateur Bannanje Govind Acharya presided over the convention while the inaugural was presided over by Karnataka Darshan Parishat president Dr Basavaraj Siddashrama.
 
Sri Sugunendrateertha Swamiji of Puttige Math inaugurated the convention on Sunday morning.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Sugunendrateertha Swami said that Vedic studies are essential to live a worthy life and hence play a vital role in an individual’s life.
 
Sri Raghumanyateertha Swamiji of Bheemanakatte Math released the book ‘Karnataka Darshan’ on the occasion.
 
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, Dakshina Kannada District Karnataka Kannada Sahitya Parishat, inaugurated the book exhibition.
 
State home and district-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya, Sri Shantamuni Swamiji of Siddaroodha Gurukula Peetha, Karnataka Sahitya Parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor, Hubli Prajapita Brahma Kumari Eshwaria Vidyalaya director Dr Basavaraj Rajakushi, Uppunda Chandrashekar Holla, and Dr Giridar Kaje, were present on the dais.
 
Dr Vijay Ballal welcomed the gathering and Gopal Acharya compered the programme.
