Kundapur: Four Students Questioned by Police for Eating Ice-cream Together

The Hindu

Kundapur, Mar 10: Two college boys belonging to one community and two college girls belonging to another were reportedly eating ice-cream at a parlour in Kundapur of Udupi district on Monday, when the police took them to the station as a “precautionary measure”.

According to one of the versions, some members of a reactionary group informed the police who came to the ice-cream parlour and took the four students to police station, enquired about their whereabouts and allowed them to go away. According to another source, the boys were assaulted by the police. However, neither version could be confirmed with the students involved. Superintendent of Police Pravin Pawar told The Hindu that the local police had received an information that some groups had identified the two boys and girls as belonging to different communities. The Kundapur police took them to the station to prevent any untoward incident from happening. Their parents were asked to take away their children, he said.

Sub Inspector of Kundapur police station B.S. Satish said that the police did not assault the four students.

How is it that the police reach quickly to control such events but are unable to control other crimes like dowry deaths? Why don't they also control dance shows and filmy songs where skimpily dressed girls dance? Shouldn't they also control girls and boys playing Holi and Dandiya Raas?

If there is a false complaint, why cant police act against the complainant ???? In the name of culture even students cannot mingle with each other !!! Now is the time to send girls to girls schools and boys to the boys schools. It is sad that these police are also following the fundamentalists !!!!!??? These fundamentalists shall not send their children to the schools as the olden Hindu culture is to send children to Gurukula's. !!!???

The survival of ice cream parlors and other refreshment centers are based on the volume of young customers such as high school students, college students and young lovers etc.. If they are harrased and can not enjoy a little time with their friends in such places, definitely the business will hit. The owners of such business firms must realize this and  complain to the concerned dept.

Its really a shame. I think within a few months the BJP government will establish separate restaurants, ice cream parlours, cinema halls for people belonging to different religions..!!! Eg: Hindu cinema mandir, muslim cinema mandir, bhajrang ice crem parlour..!!!etc. I think the British should invade India again and start ruling us we cannot rule our nation properly.

This is a Clear picture of imposing fanatic’s fundamentalist’s ideology upon the freedom and free will of the citizens. India is revered as world’s popular democratic country heading towards talibanization and people are terrorized by recently sprouted fanatic groups undeterred by the law-enforcement who have soft corners towards them supported by the bjp government of Karnataka.

I think it is time for the supreme court to intervene directly. Things are becoming more and more difficult by the day for the common man. Is this a democratic and secular state or a fascist state controlled by the mafia ( Police & fundamentalist nexus). The duty of the police was to take to task the lumpens who were trying to create trouble and not the students.
