Puttur, Mar 11: It has come to light that a group of BJP workers visited state BJP president D V Sadanand Gowda at his home at night on Monday January 9 and persuaded him not to yield to the pressure tactics of the Swabhimani Vedike. They said, there is no need to bend backwards to please the Vedike and asked Gowda not to enter into any compromise even if the Vedike comes up with a formula.

The workers said, they were determined to defeat the Vedike designs and that they will ensure for the victory of the BJP candidate. "Let Ram Bhat show his clout in the election," they reportedly said.

The workers also stuck to the stand that they would not leave Gowda's home till he promises that the party will not enter into any compromise with the Vedike. Sadanand Gowda is said to have appeased by saying that he understands their sentiments and that he would not behave in a way that belies the confidence reposed by them on him.
