Beltangady: Woman Dies after Churidar Veil Gets Entangled in Bike Wheel

Beltangady, Mar 13: A woman named Rajeshwari Acharya (47), who was travelling as a pillion rider of a motor bike, had a fatal fall after the veil of the Churidar she was wearing, got entangled in the wheel of the motor bike, on Thursday March 12.

The incident occurred at Aladangady bridge near here, when she was coming from the direction of Udupi. Even though the motor bike was stopped immediately, she was thrown on to the road, resulting in serious injuries to her head.

Although arrangements were made to take her to the nearby Bailoor hospital immediately, she breathed her last before she could be treated. She was travelling with her husband Sudarshan Acharya, a resident of Sagri in Udupi. She was going to attend the death anniversary rituals of a relative in Mundaje.

She is survived by Sudarshan Acharya, an agriculturist and employed in a private firm, two daughters who are studying in the second PU and first degree classes.
