Udupi, Mar 14: On the evening of Thursday March 12, an oil tanker hit another tanker from behind near Kallianpur bridge on national highway 17. The tanker moving ahead was pushed off the road down a slope, resulting in oil spill worth about three lac rupees.

It is learnt, the tanker that came from behind was recklessly driven and that the driver of that driver sped away after the accident. The entire truck would have tumbled down the slope and got destroyed but for a stone that stopped the wheels from moving further down.
