Kasargod: Resident from taluk among three arrested for gold smuggling

Kasargod, Apr 14: Ibrahim Mansoor from the district, Muhammed Sinan from Alapuzha, and Kannan from Ernakulam were arrested in connection with the unauthorized smuggling of 5.75 kg gold from the Gulf region.

The officials of the directorate of revenue intelligence confiscated the above gold after it was brought by a flight to Thiruvananthapuram from Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Out of the three, Muhammed Sinan was working as customs service agent at the said airport. Mansoor and Kannan had brought gold from Abu Dhabi, and Sinan was helping them to transport the gold outside the airport when the customs officials intercepted them.
