Raichur, Apr 14: Former chief secretary of Karnataka, K Ratna Prabha, said that she is prepared to fight from Chincholi assembly constituency that is vacated by party's Lok Sabha candidate from Kalaburagi, Umesh Jadhav, as a BJP candidate if the party wants her to do so.

Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday April 13, she said that she had joined BJP to serve people in the spare time she is enjoying after her retirement. About comments made by minister Priyank Kharge, son of Kalaburagi Lok Saha candidate and Congress leader, Mallikarjun Kharge, about her alleged mistakes during her tenure in the office, she said Kharge could have taken action against her if she had erred when in service. "Being a cabinet member, it was his duty to act against me as soon some mistake was committed. Was he asleep then," she wanted to know.

She stressed that she had ably discharged responsibilities entrusted to her when in service. "The previous government had taken up the issue of implementation of Justice Sadashiva Commission report on internal reservations for scheduled castes and tribes, but it was dropped as election was approaching. A committee needs to be formed to have clarity over the contents of this report," she opined.
