Mangaluru, Apr 15: Like-minded organisations on Sunday, April 14 requested people of Dakshina Kannada to defeat MP Nalin Kumar Kateel in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing media here, DYFI president Muneer Katipalla said, "For the last 28 years, BJP MPs are in power in the district. BJP have come up with Hindutva agenda this time too. There is no job creation in the district nor is an atmosphere created well enough for investors. The problems faced by farmers have not been addressed. We can notice that educated youths are working as food delivery boys and even as the security guards.

“During Modi’s event, BJP workers were seen raising slogans ‘Nalin Dillige Mithun Pallige’ (Nalin for Delhi, Mithun for Mosque). Even in the programme, there were no BJP party flags but only saffron flags.

“We are campaigning from grass root level to make sure that Nalin is defeated in the forthcoming elections.

“State secretary of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Ravi Kiran Punacha said, "BJP’s promises in their manifesto were not fulfilled. If Modi comes to power again, then it will be trouble for farmers and common man.”

Fisherman leader Dayanand Kotian said, "MP Nalin knows only to deliver provocative speeches and speak on setting fire to the district. Do we really need such an MP? Voters need to think before voting. Further, he does not speak anything regarding privatisation or bank merger due to language barrier.”
