Mangaluru, Apr 17: The annual way of the cross organized by St Joseph Vaz Church, Mudipu took place with great devotion on April 14.

The Way of the Cross proceeded from St Joseph Vaz Church to the Shrine. Fr Alwyn D’Souza, assistant parish priest of Sacred Heart Church, Madanthyar and his team conducted this devotion. During this devotion he specially prayed for the youth who are suffering in various ways.

Having reached St Joseph Vaz Shrine there was adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and confessions. Fr Benjamin Pinto thanked all those who helped in organizing the way of the cross.

Around 2,500 pilgrims gathered to witness the spiritual event.

Palm Sunday celebrated

Palm Sunday was celebrated at St Joseph Vaz Church on April 14. The ceremony began with the blessing of the palms near the grotto followed by procession to the Church commemorating Jesus Christ’s solemn entry to Jerusalem.

Fr. Benjamin Pinto blessed the palms and Fr Shaun Rodrigues, assistant parish Priest presided over the Eucharist and highlighted the importance of this day in his homily. Fr Benjamin Pinto and Fr Felix Noronha were concelebrants.
