Udupi: Autorickshaw driver loses life in accident

Udupi, Apr 17: In an accident which happened on Ambagilu - Perampalli road here on Tuesday April 16, the driver of an autorickshaw breathed his last.

The autorickshaw driver identified as Senthil Kumar (33), lost his life after a truck hit his vehicle hard.

Kumar was driving his autorickshaw toward Ambagilu from Manipal at 12.45 pm on Tuesday when a lorry which came from the opposite direction hit the three-wheeler near Shyam Circle. Kumar, who suffered grievous injuries in the accident, passed away at a hospital later.

Two autorickshaw passengers, Laxmi (30) and Kuppaswamy (56), sustained serious injuries in this accident.

A complaint filed at the traffic police station here has mentioned that the truck driver, Mahesh, was driving his vehicle recklessly and in a hurry thus causing this accident. After the accident, the driver fled from the scene, leaving behind the vehicle.
