Bengaluru: S M Krishna terms Rahul Gandhi an immature politician

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Apr 17: Former chief minister of Karnataka, S M Krishna, who launched scathing attack against dynastic politics being pursued at state and national levels, also termed All India Congress Committee president, Rahul Gandhi, as a politician whose immaturity has no end.

Commenting about tears being shed by chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, in meetings Krishna sarcastically said that a father alone knows the level of anxiety he goes through. When he was questioned at the press conference he participated whether Kumaraswamy was right in shedding tears and begging the people for support in Mandya, he said he had tried in the past several times to indulge in politics of tears but failed each time. "But for some, tears start flowing anywhere anytime. Perhaps, his heart must have reacted to the current conditions. I pity him, as the tensions and agony a father undergoes can be understood only by himself, not others," he said by way of wry comment.

Krishna reasoned that Kumaraswamy is undergoing a sense of frustration because of the fact that several members of his family are testing their luck at the hustings. "A chief minister is expected to work as per the constitution. It is his duty and responsibility to provide security to Sumalatha, A Manju, journalists etc. He has taken oath under the constitution and hence he is not right in issuing a statement, claiming that he would not be responsible if the people attack the journalists and others," he stated.

"There is not even an iota of truth in allegations being levelled by Rahul Gandhi against the Prime Minister on various issues including Rafale deal. In these issues, Rahul Gandhi has behaved immaturely and earned the ire of the Supreme Court. Being the president of a 115-year-old party, Rahul is expected to show better maturity but he has brought down the level of political addresses and created a situation in which he is earning ire of the Supreme Court. This is nothing but unlimited immaturity, " he said.

Krishna hailed Modi for providing a strong leadership to the country and enhancing the reputation of the country at the international level through his commitment and hard work. " Modi has no vices. He has no repsponsibilities of children or grandchildren. He has been striving to improve the standard of living of Indians," he commented.

To a question what would be the country's condition if Rahul becomes the Prime Minister, he said it would be better to pose this question to Mayavathi and Akhilesh Yadav, who have offered two seats to Congress in Uttar Pradesh. "By this, you can sense the critical condition to which the Congress has been relegated to by the current leaders," he said.
