Kasargod, Apr 26: A woman tried to end her life by consuming insecticide. She was admitted into a private hospital here in a serious condition on Thursday April 25.
The woman has complained that here husband, Ali, resident of Mavinakatte in Kumble, and his sisters, Ayesha and Nafisa, have been harassing her physically and mentally, and applying pressure asking her to bring additional dowry.
Zulaikha and Ali had married on may 27, 2012. It is said that 65 sovereigns of gold was given to Ali in the form of dowry then. "Since January 2019, Ali, and his two sisters have been torturing me physically and mentally and pestering me to bring additional dowry from my parents," the complainant stated.
The Kumble police have registered a case, duly naming Ali and his two sisters as accused.
