Mangalore: DYFI Insists on Bus Fare Revision

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SN/CN)

Mangalore, Mar 28: “The Bus Owners’ Association has unilaterally and unscientifically reduced the bus fare recently, Hence the district administration must revise the fare in an appropriate manner,” urged Muneer Katipalla, district president, Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), speaking at a press conference.

Katipalla said that the transport authority had decided to reduce the bus fare in the last meeting following a decline in the price of petroleum products. He added that the association will stage protests even during election time if the district administration refuses to take strict measures against the matter.

Katipalla urged for an investigation into the National Family Security Scheme case where the taluk panchayat betrayed and siphoned off Rs 1.90 lac allotted to 19 beneficiaries.

One staff of the department was found guilty but further investigation was dropped.  Since people suspect Raju Mogaveera, former tahsildar, to be guilty in this case, Katipalla insisted on a detailed investigation as soon as possible.
