Mangalore: Three-day 'Sri Ramotsav' Begins on Apr 3 at Nehru Maidan

Mangalore, Mar 30:
A three-day religious programme 'Sri Ramotsav' will be held at Nehru Maidan from Friday April 3 to Sunday April 5.
 
“The religious ceremony will be held to generate religious knowledge about the greatness of Lord Sri Ram among the people”, said M B Puranik, honourary president, Sri Ramotsav Committee, speaking at a press conference.
 
The event is being organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP), Bajarang Dal, and the Sri Ramotsav Committee.
 
The idol of Sri Ram will be installed on the first day at 9.30 am. Devotional song and dance competitions will be conducted for the Bhajana Mandalis and a religious conference will be held at 4 pm.
 
Later, the mythological Tulu play ‘Kateeldappe Ullalthi' will be staged on the occasion.
 
The programme 'Bhavayami Raghuram' presented by Kamala Bhat and team will be followed by the oblation 'Anna Santarpana' and a religious conference to be held on Saturday April 4.
 
A ‘kabaddi’ competition is being organized for the various units of the Bajarang Dal in the morning while Raichur Sheshagiri Das and group will present the programme 'Bhakti Sangeeta' on Sunday April 5.
 
Sri Ramanand Swamy, Kolya, Sri Rajashekaranad Swamy, Gurpur Vajradehi Math, and Sri Balayogi Amarutanand Swamy, Kumpala Gurunagar, will deliver the benedictory speech on each day, respectively.
 
Kenya Ravindranath Rai, president, committee, Manohar Tulajaram, and Gopal Kuttar, were present at the press conference.
