Hassan: B B Shivappa Buries Hatchet - Rebellion in BJP Temporarily Quelled

Daijiworld Media Network - Hassan (SP)

Hassan, Mar 30: It is learnt that after veteran BJP leader B B Shivappa, who had grown angry over neglecting his long association with the party and allotting ticket to his sworn adversary K H Hanume Gowda from this constituency, has been pacified by the chief minister. Reportedly, Shivappa agreed to remain in the party, after being assured that he would be given a position that befits his standing in the party.

Due to the intervention of a senior head of a Math in the state, the meeting of Shivappa with Yeddyurappa materialized. Sources close to Shivappa claimed, the chief minister agreed to accommodate Shivappa in a suitable position once the Lok Sabha election comes to a close.

MLA V Somanna was present at the said meeting. Shivappa reportedly insisted that he should be made a MLC. The chief minister did not give any concrete assurance on this demand, but said he would ensure that Shivappa will get that position or a position that is higher in importance than a MLC.

Shivappa is expected to canvass for Hanume Gowda and a formal announcement about this decision will be made by him soon, party sources claimed.
