Mangalore: Mandd Sobhann to Stage Monthly Theatre, ‘Bhakti Sobhann’ on April 5

Mangalore, Mar 31:
Mandd Sobhann, a premier organization working to promote Konkani and its culture world-wide, will be staging its monthly theatre programme,  ‘Bhakti Sobhann,’ a devotional singing appropriate to Lenten season on Noreen and Ronald Mendonca a the open stage of Kalangann, Makale, Shaktinagar, here at 6.30 pm on Sunday April 5.
 
The devotional hymns have been compiled by Fr Dr Pratap Naik SJ and poet Melvyn Rodrigues while the music has been composed by Mandd Sobhann Gurkar and Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy former president Eric Ozario.
 
`Pati Ye Mai', a Konkani short play with the theme for viewers, will be staged by Mandd troupe on the same occasion.  Noted theatre director Arun Raj Rodrigues is the playwright of this play that will be directed by John Permannur with his musicians.
 
Carmelite Fr Alwyn Sequeira and Sangeet Guru Joel Pereira will lead the choir of ‘Karejmacho Kantigo’ most traditional Mangalorean Konkani devotional singing on passions of Jesus Christ, at the same venue.
