Mangalore, Apr 2: Tyagaraja -Purandara Dasa Aradhana Mahotsav will be held at Dhyana Mandir of Sharada Vidyalaya, Kodialbail in the city on Friday April 3.
The event is being jointly organized by Kalkura Foundation and Sadguru Sangeeta Patashala.
As part of event, veteran Mrudangam exponent Kasargod Babu Rai will be conferred with ‘Pallavi’ Award, said Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, Kalkura Foundation, speaking at the press conference.
The award will be conferred to Rai for his achievement in the field of musical instrument. Rai had learnt to play the the Mrudungam under the guidance of great scholars of Mysore Palace, he said.
He has also rendered his service as the president in several musical and drama organizations, Kalkura explained.
Nadashri M V Ganesh Rao and team will present the 'Pancharatna Keertana' of Tyagaraj at the musical concert on the occasion.
