Udupi: Four Nursing Students Injured in Road Accident

Udupi, Apr 3: Four students of the auxiliary nursing midwife (ANM) course of the district hospital here were hospitalized, after sustaining injuries in a road accident in the city that occurred on the evening of Thursday April 2.

The students were hit by a tanker when they were walking towards their hostel located at Kinnimulky here on the national highway after attending their school located nearby. The injured have been identified as Vinaya from Yermal, Surekha from Karkala Sooralbettu, Amita from Brahmavar Uppinakote and Nisha from Palli. Nisha is being treated at the district hospital, while the other three have been admitted into a private hospital. Amita suffered injuries to her head and others escaped with minor injuries.

The policemen said, the tanker was trying to avoid hitting a car, when it hit the nursing students.
