Mangalore: Poojary Exhorts Voters to Bring Single Party Rule at Centre

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 4: Ex-union minister Janardhan Poojary has strongly advocated for a single-party government at the centre. "If the country has to move on the developmental track and peace has to settle in the entire country, the voters should bring single party to power at the centre. I therefore, request the people to single-mindedly vote for the Congress," he said.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the Congress election office near Padua Highschool in the city on Friday April 3, Poojary said the people have witnessed the catastrophic affects of running a coalition government at the centre. Since there is a need to ensure that candidates of a single party get majority in the  Lok Sabha, so that that party can wholeheartely follow developmental agenda without any distractions. "Vote Congress to power. If it does not stand up to your expectations, you can bring down the government in the next election," he explained.

He also sought to put the toil of the party workers ahead of his personal victory, saying that if he wins, it would be the victory of the party workers. He squarely blamed the BJP government of not keeping its word and hiking the house tax as soon as it rose to power in the City Corporation here. “As long as the Congress party was in charge of the Corporation, it had blocked the implementation of the Self Assessment Property Tax Scheme,” he claimed.

"I have been visiting various temples since I filed my nomination. People have spoken to me about the way in which they are frustrated with the BJP rule. They confessed to have voted for the BJP and being repentant, have vowed to vote for the Congress Party now," he said.

The office was inaugurated by district Congress president B Ramanath Rai. He expressed the confidence that Poojary will win with very high margin. He also extended a warm welcome to several BJP workers who crossed over to the Congress on the occasion.

Various leaders including Mohammed Masood, N M Adyantaya, Vijaykumar Shetty, B Ibrahim, Bondala Jagannath Shetty, Arun Coelho, Ibrahim Kodijal, M G Hegde, Mahabal Marla, Shashidhar Hegde etc., participated. Kallige Taranath Shetty conducted the programme.

Single Party ruling at the centre is the best option.Hence choice of the people should be either Congress or BJP.It is a waste by voting for third or fourth front. Because it is done by its creators to sit piggy back at the centre and creat chaos.
