Mangalore, Apr 4: Konkani Shikpa Sambhram, the annual day celebration of Konkani teachers and children, jointly organized by Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and Konkani Prachar Sanchalan was held at Kalaangann on Saturday April 4.
The Best Konkani Teacher Award 2008-09 was presented to Robert Menezes from Palli in recognition of his effort to teach Konkani in his native government school and in the Church. The award was presented by the District Institute of Education Training principal Philomena Lobo.
The organizers also distributed prizes to the students who have scored cent per cent in Konkani language exam.
Eric Ozario, Philomena Lobo, Konkani Sahitya Academy president Narayan Kharvi, Fr Wison D’Souza, Staney Alvares, Roy Castelino and Dr Edward Nazareth were present on the occasion.
