Udupi: Desertion by D B Chandre Gowda Tragic - B L Shankar

Udupi, Apr 7: "The decision of D B Chandre Gowda to leave the Congress Party is tragic. However, rumours about Vinay Kumar Sorake joining the BJP are baseless. The JD (S) decision not to field its candidate from this constituency will prove to be advantageous to the Congress," analyzed senior Congress leader and ex-speaker of state legislative council, B L Shankar.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday April 6, Shankar criticized Chandre Gowda for having sacrificed principles for position, after getting full advantage from the Congress party during the four decades he was associated with it.  He termed Gowda as a coward who has escaped to the enemy camp at a time when his services were required in the war against communalists.

"The BJP has done precious little for the people of the coast and the Malnad region. The MPs representing the BJP during the last ten years did nothing to mitigate the problems of this Lok Sabha constituency.  People will reject the dubious ways of the BJP in sticking out lures to the legislators of other parties. We will smash the strong bastion of the BJP here in this election," he added.

Mr.B.L.Shankar you don't have any moral right to criticising Chandregowda. You also sacrificed principles for position, after getting full advantage from your original party. You also escaped to the enemy camp at a time when your services were required to your party.
