Puttur: Malicious Propaganda Cannot Win Elections - Poojary

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Apr 20: "The BJP accuses me of violating the election code of conduct, even when I prostrate before the deities in the temples. Does the BJP not have any valid issues other than heaping baseless allegations on me?" questioned Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha candidate from the Congress, B Janardhan Poojary.

He was addressing a meeting of Congress activists and his fans, convened at Kabaka near here on Sunday April 19.

Both the NDA and the BJP do not have any valid issues based on which they can seek votes. The BJP is trying to create a wrong impression in the minds of the people. No one can win elections based on malicious propaganda, he added.

Congress leader and ex-MP Vinay Kumar Sorake in his address said that the achievement of the UPA government at the centre and the failure of the state BJP government will come in handy for a Congress win. He also accused the BJP of not having genuine concern for the welfare of the downtrodden people.

Congress leaders Jeevan Bhandary, Mohammed Badruddin, A Hemnath Shetty, Bondala Jagannath Shetty etc., too addressed the meeting.

There are two possibilities now. If Poojari is lying that he has not asked for votes in temple and this claim of Poojari is wrong then good & sincere people present their in the temple may decide to vote against him. On the other hand if the real fact is that he is talking truth then those good & sincere people present in temple who were voting against him earlier may decide to vote him. For the rest of us Poojari''s statement does not make any difference.
