Udupi: Robbers Terrorize Villagers, Take away Ornaments, Cash

Udupi, Apr 20: The robbers, who forcibly entered three homes located in Thenkabettu and Jatabettu areas of Uppoor village near Brahmavar in the taluk on the night of Saturday April 18, took away cash and ornaments totally worth around four lac rupees.

At around 12 am that day, they broke open the back door of the home of Prakash Kumar in Jatabettu and took away a gold chain worth Rs 44,000 placed below the pillow of his mother. They then entered the home of Shashidhar Adiga in Tenkabettu by breaking open the front doors, where they brandished a knife, broke open the almirah, threatened the people at home and took away gold ornaments worth over three lac rupees.

They then gained entry into the house of Sooryanarayana Kukkillaya in Thenkabettu and took away Rs 600 in cash and gold chain worth Rs 50,000, before fleeing away.

Cases in respect of these robberies have been registered in Brahmavar police station.
