Udupi, Apr 21: Scores of people attended a feast organized on the occasion of 'Bhoota Tambila' in a house located in Ambalpady here, on the night of Sunday April 19. It is said, that the BJP had arranged for the feast.

The district deputy commissioner (DC) and assistant returning officer (ARO) got information that many people had gathered at a house in the town for Bhoota Tambila. DC Hemalata and ARO Sangaiah said they had deputed employees to verify the genuineness of information and were told that Bhoota Tambila programme had been arranged there.

However, when the media men went there and started shooting the event, the organizers switched off the generator, giving rise to doubts. The media persons had gone there after they were tipped of about the sumptuous meal arranged for the BJP workers in the presence of D V Sadanand Gowda, Raghupati Bhat and others. They found lot of vehicles and feast going on there but sensing the media presence, organizers switched off the generator.
