Mangalore: Independent Candidate Rama Bhat Canvasses Votes in City

Mangalore, Apr 221:  Rama Bhat, Urimajalu,  the independent  candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency  for Lok Sabha election  campaigned in  the city on Tuesday April 21. 

Bhat was seen on city streets accompanied by his supporters including Mangalore City corporator Mariyamma Thomas and former MLA Shakuntala Shetty. 











Bhat said, “The campaign is going on and I tried to reach all the voters. My whole agenda is to win and to serve the people of Dakshina Kannada constituency who have suffered because of earlier Members of Parliament (MP) who did no development work.”  

He accused past MPs of indulging in low-level politics and said that his campaign in the city was done by distributing handbills. 

Bhat also said that he had been blessed by his voters for his achievements and development work during his term as MLA and added that the number of his supporters was increasing with each day.    

Bhat formed the Swabhimani Vedike with Shakuntala Shetty after they quit the BJP and is currently contesting as an  independent candidate with the symbol allotted to him being a ring.
