Mangalore, Apr 22: “To enable individual candidates to make clear their stand on the issue of illegal cattle trafficking, the Gosamrakshana Samiti has written identical letters to all of them, said Vinay L Shetty, Gosamrakshana committee convener, speaking at a press conference here recently.

Though innumerable cases of illegal cattle trafficking had been reported since the last some months, hardly any action was taken against the culprits involved, he rued.

Hence the committee has decided to question the candidates about the measures they propose to take against such illegal activities and other related issues, and has decided to lend support to only those candidates who provide proper replies, said Vinay.

The committee has voluntarily stepped forward to create awareness among the people on the increasing number of illegal cattle trafficking and the unauthorized cow slaughter, he said.

Vinay Krishna Rao was also present at the press conference.
