Mangalore, Apr 23: On Wednesday April 22, BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency Nalin Kumar Kateel met Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade and sought his blessings.

During the visit, he collected information about various social service programmes being run by Dharmasthala. He also requested Heggade to guide him on development activities he proposes to take up after getting elected.

Speaking to reporters later, he said the district is proud to have a spiritual, pilgrimage and development-centric centre like Dharmasthala. The development activities being run by Dharmasthala are models for the entire world. While the peoples' representatives find it hard to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach even the last beneficiaries for whom they are meant to benefit, Dharmasthala organizations achieve this objective without any problem, he noted.

Nalin Kumar said he was specifically impressed by the rural development project and the self help groups which have infused new life into the women and rural folks. These schemes have shown the way to economic empowerment of the rural women, he appreciated. Kumar in addition, expressed his happiness about the Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute being run by Dharmasthala, which has spread its wings all over the country due to the able guidance and foresightedness of Heggade.
